TECHNICAL INFORMATION

There are various types of materials used in flag production: The main fabrics are woven and knitted polyesters chosen for quality and strength.

WOVEN POYESTER:  Mat in appearance the strength lies in the warp and the weft of the fabric which allows equal pull on the material when flown in both directions.

KNITTED POLYESTER:  Has a shiny finish and is a thinner fabric than its woven counterpart. Knitted fabrics can also be produced with a satin finish but this does mean that the appearance of the flag differs on each side.

SEWN FLAGS:   The sewn flag is the most tradition type manufacture and in many respects is still the most effective. The flag is created by cutting individual pieces of material  to size and shape and piecing them together with interlocking stitch.  Individual designs and then appliquéd into position using a zig-zag stitching method to create strength.

DYE AND DIGITALLY PRINTED FLAGS:  Titherleys specialises in dye printed flags leading enabling us to be able to provide accurate colour matches for our clients designs.

The digital method of print ensures continuity! Every one of the flags we produce is to the highest standard resulting in an excellent colour match and  rich colour contrasts.
